The boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival are traditional customs to attempt to rescue Qu Yuan.

People eat rice dumplings (zongzi) on the Dragon Boat Festival.

农历五月初五是端午节。这是一个纪念爱国诗人屈原的中国传统节日。

屈原于公元前278年五月初五投江身亡。

一开始，赛龙舟的目的是试图营救屈原，这个传统习俗就在端午节一直流传。

自此，人们在端午节吃粽子。
